Privacy Statement

ExOne now offers a new app, Scout Powered by MindSphere, for your mobile device. It's just one of the data monitoring, management and analysis tools we offer with our 3D printers. Below, we offer details on how we collect and use personal data with this app. Personal data are any data that may be related to you personally, e.g., your name, address, email addresses, and user behavior.

2. Information on Processing Your Data

Certain information is automatically processed as soon as you use the app. Below we have listed the specific personal data that we process:

2.1 Information Collected During the Download

When you download the app, certain required information is transmitted to the app store you selected. In particular, the user name, email address, and customer number of your account and the time of the download may be processed. These data are processed exclusively by the respective app store, beyond our control.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

As part of your use of the app, we automatically collect certain data that are required for using the app. These include: the device name, operating system, operating system version, app version, MAC address for WLAN use, and the name of your smartphone. These data are automatically transmitted to us so that we can:

1. Provide you with the service and related functions;
2. Improve the functions and features of the app, and
3. Prevent and eliminate misuse and malfunctions.

This data processing is justified by the fact that (1) processing is required for fulfilling the contract between you as the data subject and us according to Art. 6, Para. 1, Let. b) of the GDPR in order to use the app, or (2) we have a legitimate interest in ensuring the functionality and error-free operation of the app and offering a market and interest-oriented service that your rights and interests in the protection of your personal data within the meaning of Art. 6, Para. 1, Let. f) of the GDPR prevail here.

2.3 Use of the App

As part of the app, you can take part in various ExOne promotions and enter, manage, and edit information.

For that purpose, the app requires the following permissions:

• Internet access: This is required to establish a connection to the ExOne GmbH server so that the app works accordingly.
• Messages/Push: This is required to receive current messages and promotions from ExOne GmbH

Push Messages

When you use our app, we may contact you with push messages. To further develop our offering and for statistical purposes, we record when and how often a push message is opened. We collect this information in pseudonymous form. Naturally, you may unsubscribe from push messages anytime in the app's settings.

Push notifications are sent based on consent according to Art. 6, Para.1, Let. a) of the GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7 of the GDPR.

Account/User Account

To use our app, you need a corresponding user account. You can create this account directly via the app. Here we collect/process the following data from you:

• First name
• Last name
• Email address
• Birthday/age
• Customer number
• Registration date
• Mobile number
• Sessions

Legal basis: Processing is required for fulfilling the contract between you as the data subject and us according to Art. 6, Para. 1, Let. b) of the GDPR in order to use the app.

3. Data Disclosure and Transfer

Aside from the cases mentioned in this Privacy Statement, your personal data will only be disclosed without your prior consent if legally permissible or required.

If required for investigating unlawful or improper use of the app or for prosecution, personal data will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies or other authorities and, as appropriate, to injured third parties or legal advisers. However, this will only occur if there are indications of illegal or abusive conduct. Your personal data may also be disclosed if this serves to enforce terms of use or other legal claims. We are also legally obligated to provide information to certain public authorities, e.g., law enforcement agencies. The legal basis is Art. 6, Para. 1, Let. f) of the GDPR or Art. 6. Para. 1, Let. c) of the GDPR in connection with national legal requirements.

4. Changes to the Processing Purpose

Your personal data will only be processed for purposes other than those described if allowed by law or if you have given your consent to the amended purpose of data processing. If your data are processed further for purposes other than those for which they were originally collected, we will inform you of the other purposes prior to processing and provide you with all other relevant information.

5. Period of Data Storage

We delete or anonymize your personal data as soon as they are no longer required for purposes for which we have collected or used them according to the preceding paragraphs, unless it is required to temporarily process them further in order to meet statutory retention periods or to secure, assert, or enforce legal claims.

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

• Right to information: You have the right to information on the data we store, particularly for what purpose the data are processed and how long they are stored (Art. 15 of the GDPR).
• Right to correction: You have the right to request that we immediately correct your personal data if they are incorrect (Art. 16 of the GDPR).
• Right to deletion: You have the right to request that we delete your personal data. The prerequisites stipulate that you may request the deletion of your data if, e.g., we no longer need the personal data for the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed, we process the data unlawfully, or you have legitimately objected to them or if there is a legal obligation to delete them (Art. 17 of the GDPR).
• Right to data portability: You have the right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 of the GDPR), insofar as those have not already been deleted and the corresponding prerequisites of Art. 20 of the GDPR are met.
• Right to objection: You have the right to object to processing your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 of the GDPR). We will cease processing your personal data unless we can determine compelling legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms or if processing serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims. An objection to data processing for advertising purposes based on Art. 6, Para. 1, Let. f) of the GDPR is possible anytime.
• Right to revocation: You have the right to revoke your consent anytime. This revocation will not affect the legality of any processing done beforehand based on the consent (Art. 7, Para. 3 of the GDPR).
• Right to complain to the supervisory authority: You have the right to contact the privacy officer mentioned above or a privacy supervisory authority if you believe that processing your personal data violates the General Data Protection Regulation.
