Sales Manager

Job Description: 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and target potential customers having a need for ExOne products and services.  Create new approaches to introducing ExOne in the marketplace and develop leads to expand opportunities.  Search for outlets to promote ExOne, utilizing trade shows, internet, new businesses, trade publications and networking.  Originate sales contacts and follow-up on all new business development opportunities.  Reports to the Regional Sales Manager while working at the local PSC. 

Manage existing customer accounts. Initiate sales calls, respond to customer inquiries and follow-up on any action items.  Secure new orders for business and negotiate pricing, delivery and related matters to achieve optimum profitability for the company.  Support customers and provide resources to establish partnering sales relationships.  Review all new business opportunities for relevance, cost effectiveness and achievability to ExOne.  Direct the development of existing products and applications for customers.  Work with R&D, Engineering and the Production teams to attain maximum utilization at best pricing.  Follow orders through the production process and maintain communications between the plant and customer while mediating issues and resolving any problems.  Interface with Accounting, Order Entry, Shipping and other departments to assure accurate and consistent data are maintained throughout internal systems.  Prioritize effectively and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.  Responsible for incentives for product/service sales.

Attend and participate in any training or education required by company.  Attend local/regional AFS chapter meetings and AFS World Congress.  Follow all company policies and procedures and support the continuous improvement quality process.  Protect company assets, technology and trade information.  Represent the company in a positive and highly professional manner. 

Minimum Requirements:
Associate Degree with at least eight years’ of manufacturing, technical, application development and sales experience. Desired BS in technical discipline (engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, etc.) with at least five years’ experience in manufacturing, technical, application development and sales experience.  Foundry experience desired.  Direct sales experience preferably in a related field.  Background in CAD and in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of engineering and prints, drawings, schematics and other documents. Familiarity with metal casting processes and the foundry industries.  Outstanding telephone style, verbal and written communication skills and relationship/people skills.  Must be goal oriented and a self-starter.  Excellent organization, time-management and follow-up ability.  Demonstrate capacity for initiative and self-direction.  Be proficient with MS Office applications.  Must be able to travel up to 50%.  Possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to be totally mobile and also to travel alone.  Visual acuity sufficient to read engineering drawings, operate a computer and perform inspection of parts.
